Agents and representatives sign the new collective economic agreement for the retail sector
Federpromm, representing the professional categories of Financial Agents and Advisors, is submitting the new AEC text to its members for approval.
After more than ten years of waiting, on 4 June 2025 the new Collective Economic Agreement (AEC) was signed for agents and representatives in the retail sector between the industry organizations Confcommercio, Confesercenti, Confcoperative and, on the agents’ side, the trade union organizations Filcams Cgil, Fisascat Cisl, Uiltucs, Ugl Terziario, Fnaarc, Usarci, Fiarc.
This agreement marks a fundamental step toward a modern contractual framework that keeps pace with market developments. The new AEC introduces important changes, including:
- Broader protections: a modern view of the category, with the inclusion of the e-commerce channel and greater clarity in relations between agent and principal.
- Economic benefits: the widening of the remuneration items that make up the taxable base for indemnities, the lowering of the threshold for principals to change commissions and territory, and a significant increase in the revaluation of the FIRR due to the agent.
For professional figures such as Financial Agents and financial advisors (all regulated professions), many intermediaries in the financial and credit sectors refer to this AEC and to the provisions of the Civil Code (former Articles 1742 and following). The trade unions that signed the contract renewal expressed great satisfaction with this collective agreement, considering it balanced and innovative and suited to the current needs of commercial agents. Federpromm (affiliated with Uiltucs), representing the professional categories (AF and CF), believes that before giving its approval it is necessary to submit the contents of the entire text signed by the trade unions and employers’ associations to its members for consultation.
